Uxbridge Takes Steps To Go Green

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Recycling and Sustainability Committee in the the Town of Uxbridge will be holding a meeting next week to discuss with residents how the town can become a Green Community.  The Regional Coordinator for the Central Region Green Communities Division, Kelly Brown, will be the guest speaker and will talk about the process and benefits of becoming a Green Community.  Uxbridge will need to reach the five-criteria to become an energy leader in the State working to reduce its energy costs, improve the local environment and implement energy efficiency and renewable energy projects with funding through the  Green Community Designation.  Franklin recently was designated as a Green Community and awarded a grant of just over $183,000.  Uxbridge residents are invited to next week's meeting.  It will take place on Tuesday night, January 16th, in the lower Town Hall beginning at six o’clock.
