By MyFM's Rick Michaels - An informational session will be held tonight in Upton as the town has entered into a 12-month agreement with Colonial Power to bring energy cost savings to residents and business owners. The newly created Upton Community Choice Power Supply Program will provide price stability, local control and competition, lowering energy costs for residents and the business community by essentially buying power in bulk. Annual savings will be approximately one-point-27 percent in monthly energy bills. The average combined savings for residents and for the town will be about 22-hundred dollars. Town officials say residents won’t notice any change in the their electric service. Everyone will be automatically enrolled into the program unless you wish to opt out. Tonight’s information session will feature town officials and representatives from Colonial Power Group. It begins at seven o’clock at the Upton Town Hall.
