By MyFM's Jake Archer - Yesterday some terrible, distressing news came out of Foxboro as the Patriots have found that they don’t know where to hang their fifth Super Bowl championship banner in Gillette Stadium. Sadly, the stadium already has quite a few banners and Pats owner Robert Kraft is going to have to renovate to find room for the new one.
Not only will the Pats organization have to overhaul what they are currently doing on the outside of the stadium to commemorate championship victories, but they will also have to tackle the inside of the facilities. The Patriots have many different updates to make and I have a proposal for them. When they do go through with these changes, they need to somehow leave room for future Super Bowl victories to be celebrated. If I’m Robert Kraft I’m setting up the banners in such a way that leaves two or three open areas where the next ones can go. I mean, at this point it makes sense to just plan for the future right?
I love that the Patriots made this public yesterday because it is such a slap in the face to the rest of the NFL and football fans everywhere. “Oh no, we have too many championships that we just don’t know what to do with them at this point,” is such a diabolical and hilarious statement to make and it makes me so happy to be a New Englander.
