By MyFM's Jake Archer - I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t know what happens with this Bruins team until something actually does happen. That sounds obvious, but they are just way too streaky to predict right now. I can’t quite get a read on them and I don’t believe many people can.
First they went on a real nice hot streak after the coaching change from Claude Julien to Bruce Cassidy. I wrote about it because I thought they had finally turned a corner. They sprinkled in a few losses along the way, but for the most part I was optimistic about their future.
Then they started to revert back to old habits and their play dipped. They lost four straight and some were in very embarrassing fashion. Their was panic in the streets and I would say I should have known better than to lose my mind, but I don’t think I should have. The Bruins haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt in the last couple of years and even my most die-hard Bruins fan friend was smashing the panic button.
Tuukka was looking lost and displaying bad body language. The team wasn’t getting quality scoring chances. They were coming apart at the seams. I saw the writing on the wall, and I let four awful games get to me. I wrote about them again and criticized them saying that if they didn’t right the ship they would lose a lot of people in their corner and all the good vibes from the hot streak would be gone.
But now, the Bruins have ripped off three straight wins and Tuukka is beginning to silence the doubters after two great performances. I’m not going to go and write about how they are back in business and gush over them though. I may not write another Bruins article for the rest of the regular season because I just can’t get caught up in good or bad play like I have. This team will rope-a-dope you and make you look like a fool. So I’ll wait until something concrete happens to come back with my Bruins takes because it’s just too hot and cold for me right now.
