By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The number is now down to just hundreds of homes without power this morning as Central Massachusetts and the MY-FM Listening area was among the hardest hit by a major rain and wind storm that barreled through the area Sunday night into Monday morning. Across the state, those without electricity, following colder overnight temperatures, is at 39-thousand. In Central Massachusetts that number was near 15-thousand yesterday.
Many towns are dealing with the clean-up process. Hopkinton was especially hit hard, with portions of roads closed because of downed trees and wires. Saddle Hill Road remained closed overnight. The road is expected to re-open for the morning commute. Yesterday crews were able to open Pond Street, School Street and last night West Elm Street.
