Pauline R. (Donald) Greenhalgh, 100, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Franklin, MA. She was the widow of Charles (Ernie) Greenhalgh who died in 2007, they were married for 67 years.
She worked for 50 years in the banking industry, starting as one of the first female tellers at the Blackstone Valley National Bank in Uxbridge, beginning in 1935. Pauline retired in 1985 from the Bank of Boston in Uxbridge.
Mrs. Greenhalgh was born June 10, 1916 in Springfield the daughter of the late George D. and Elizabeth M. (Jarvis) Donald. She was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge, graduating from Uxbridge High School, class of 1934. She also attended the American Institute of Banking where she received several certificates.
Pauline was an avid bowler participating in many local and state tournaments. She and her husband were well known in the Uxbridge area where they made many lasting friendships with individuals who were very devoted to them. Pauline and her husband were avid Boston Red Sox fans and loved to travel. They visited Ireland over 20 times and also cherished their time spent at York Beach, Maine.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 AM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.
Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon St., Uxbridge.
