By MyFM's Jake Archer - The Millis High School softball team dropped its season opener to Tri-Valley League rival Medfield 3-2. The Mohawks had their chances to score more runs, such as in the seventh inning when they loaded the bases, but they could not capitalize.
Sophomore Cheyenne Whelan had a nice game in the field and at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sophomore pitcher Abby Doyle was on the mound for the whole game and only gave up three runs while striking out two and walking two. Millis drops to 0-1 on the season.
