Milford Catholic Will Remain Open

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The push is on by parents to keep open the Milford Catholic Elementary School not just for next year, but for at least the next 3 to 5 years.  Facing declining enrollment and the money needed to provide a quality education, The Chairman of the School Board, Mike Walsh,  saying last week, closing the school was the only option.  Earlier this week, meeting with parents, who presented the school board with an emotional and powerful presentation to keep the school open, Walsh says the board gave parents one-month to reach 107 students and they already have commitments for 16 new students.  Walsh says fundraising is a key area parents will be focusing on with the goal to keep the doors at Milford Catholic Elementary School open and prevent the school from being in the same position this time next year.

Walsh says the School board will continue to work with parents and faculty who have agreed to stay on in hopes enrollment will reach the number of students to provide a quality education and keep the school financially stable.
