Mary M. (White) Peterson, 84, of Hopedale

Mary M. (White) Peterson, 84, of Hopedale passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Harry Peterson who died in 1975.

Mrs. Peterson had been employed as a bookkeeper for the former Marlboro Dairy for many years. Later, she worked at Calvert’s in Shrewsbury for several years. 

Mrs. Peterson was born Dec. 14, 1932 in Marlboro the daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Robitaille) White and had lived in Marlboro and Shrewsbury for many years before moving to Hopedale in 2006. 

Mary enjoyed gong to the casino and playing bingo. She was an avid reader, loved cats and liked puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling with her family, following politics, and in years past attended St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury and Good Shepherd Church in Linwood.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by three daughters, Mary and her husband Jim Barrows of Southborough, Jane Peterson of Tacoma, WA. and Amy and her husband James Owens of Uxbridge, 5 grandchildren Kate, Peter, David, Lee and Corrina and 4 great grandchildren, Lily, Abby, Audrey and Danny.

Funeral services will be private.
