Legislative Council Sits In At Franklin Town Council Meeting

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Legislative delegation that serves the town of Franklin will attend tonight’s meeting of the Franklin Town Council.   State Senators Karen Spilka and Richard Ross, along with State Representative Jeffrey Roy, recently received a letter of congratulations from the town on being re-elected to their respective branches.  The lawmakers also asked the town to share some of their priorities for the 2017-2018 legislative session and among the issues of substantial financial concern for the Town of Franklin is the need to re-allocate funds into established State Aid Programs, the Charter School funding formula and to reform the Special Education Law to help limit unanticipated costs during the school year.  The Town Council members may also vote tonight to refer a proposed zoning bylaw amendment to the planning board dealing with the establishment of a brewery, distillery or winery with a tasting room.
