By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Police in Hopkinton say a 69-year old Walcott Street resident was taken into custody yesterday afternoon following a two-hour stand-off with police. Family members called Hopkinton Police around 12:15 yesterday afternoon concerned that the man had gone into a small building on his property after an argument had turned violent and that guns were present in that building. For safety reasons several homes in the area were evacuated with the man initially refusing to come out of the building. Eventually, he came out around 2:30 and was taken into custody without incident and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The 69-year old man, who lives on Walcott Street, has been charged with domestic assault and battery and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
Hopkinton Police say he’ll be arraigned upon his release from the hospital.
