Hopedale Woman Faces Cat Burglary Charges

MyFM's Rick Michaels - A Hopedale woman who volunteered to help transport nine cats from Sturbridge to Lynnfield Massachusetts, but never delivered the cats after taking possession of them, is now facing charges.  Hopedale Police say as a result of the investigation, 27-year old Jahna Walsh is being charged with Larceny by false pretense and Cruelty to Animals.  The 3-cats and 6-kittens were being brought from Connecticut to the “Odd Cat Sanctuary” in Salem.  Walsh was assisting with the transporting of the cats but  after picking them up on Friday  she deactivated her lines of communication.  Hopedale Police went to Walsh’s home and located the mother cat and six-kittens, saying the two other adult cats ran off.  She located one of them after officers left her home and Sunday night at about ten o’clock she located the other cat and brought it to the police station.  Hopedale Police issued a media release yesterday morning announcing the charges being brought against Walsh.
