By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Residents of Holliston will be asked to decide the fate of 18-articles which make up the warrant to be presented tonight at the Fall Town Meeting. The biggest expenditure will come with Article 5, money to be used to pay for capital projects or purchases totaling just under 827-thousand dollars. There are eight requests for funds. Almost half of the total amount, 400-thousand dollars, would go towards a rescue truck replacement and equipment for the Fire Department. Plus two technology systems for the schools costing 200-thousand dollars as well as three new cruisers for the Police Department at a cost of 77-thousand dollars. Article 8 will ask Holliston residents to put aside one-point-seven million dollars from reserve and surplus water accounts to pay for water main replacement construction costs. The Finance Committee unanimously recommended approval of both articles. The town will also decide on implementing a temporary moratorium on recreational marijuana establishments putting off any decisions until more guidance is given on regulations, something that will come from the Cannabis Control Commission. Tonight’s Fall Town Meeting takes place at Holliston High School, beginning at 7:30.
