Franklin Police Warn Residents About Vehicle Break-Ins

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Franklin Police Department has seen a recent rise in the number of reported car break-ins throughout the town in the past few weeks.  Just this past weekend there were at least eight break-ins reported.  Most recently overnight Sunday/early Monday morning there were two vehicles broken into on Coronation Drive.  The same on Beverly Road  and Cohasset Way.  Franklin Police say most of these crimes are crimes of opportunity meaning items are left in the cars and the cars are left unlocked.  Remember to hide your belongings or bring them inside and that includes anything that might appear to be valuable to a criminal which would be any type of bag no matter what it contained.  And of course lock your doors.  Franklin Police say if you have any information about the recent rise in break ins, you can e-mail tips@franklinpolice.com or if you see anything suspicious you’re asked to call police.
