Franklin Baseball Takes Care of Marshfield 6-1

By MyFM's Jake Archer - The top overall seed Franklin High School baseball team took care of business as they dispatched seventeen seed Marshfield by a score of 6-1 this weekend.  The Panthers pounced on Marshfield early by scoring all six runs in the first three innings, and they never looked back.

Jake Noviello was the star of the game for Franklin as he pitched six strong innings, allowing only one run (unearned) on four hits while striking out six. He also brought his bat as he went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Marshfield got on the board in the sixth after a Franklin error and two singles, but that was all they could muster. Franklin will now move on to play eighth-seeded Durfee at home at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hilltoppers bounced the Panthers from the playoffs last year, so Franklin will be looking for a little revenge.
