By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The former owner of the Myriad Ballroom in Mendon is sentenced in U.S. District Court in Worcester for tax fraud. 63-year old Jon “Eddie” Rouleau was sentenced yesterday to one-year of probation and ordered to pay a fine of three-thousand dollars. Rouleau pleaded guilty to one count of intentionally aiding in the preparation of a false tax return. He paid the I-R-S 103-thousand dollars in restitution and a civil penalty of close to 60-thousand dollars. Rouleau and his father owned and operated the Myriad Ballroom for decades, until he sold the business and property in 2014. The investigation was initiated the previous year when he advertised the Myriad Ballroom for sale, telling agents who posed as potential buyers that the annual gross receipts and profits of the Ballroom were significantly greater than reported on the Ballrooms’ tax returns.
