December Events at Bellingham Public Library
  

Hours:  Monday –Thursday10 am to 8 pm;  Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm.  Closed on Sundays.  The library is closed on Saturday, December 24th and Monday, December 26th for the Christmas Holiday and Saturday, December 31st and Monday, January 2nd for the New Year’s Holiday. 

Library Community Room Update
Repairs have begun to the Community Room and Community Room Kitchen and have an estimated 8-12 week time frame.  The earliest the room will be available is early to mid-January.  We will update the library website each month with details about the progress of the repair. 

We ask for your patience while we work through the details, and remain very thankful that no one was injured.  The library staff looks forward to continue offering services and programs to the Bellingham Community.

December Events!
Due to the situation with the Community Room being unavailable, we ask that you check the library calendar for updated details on all December events as any of them may be cancelled, rescheduled or have a change in location.

Polar Express Extravaganza – Friday, December 2nd at 6:30 pm.  Families are invited to join us on the Polar Express at this fun program! Enjoy hot chocolate as you sit down and listen to the voice of Liam Neeson as he reads The Polar Express while the pages are projected on the screen. After the fifteen minute story event, you will be able to meet Santa, make holiday crafts, have fun in our seasonal photo booth, and more! It is an event your family is sure to enjoy. Please register.  FYI: There will not be an actual train at the library.

Book a Librarian - Wednesdays at 5:00 and 5:45 pm.  Would you like a personal introduction to resources available at the library?  Do you need more time with a librarian than you can get over the phone or if you just walk in? Book a Librarian sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual.  A library staff member will give undivided attention to patrons who want in-depth help with a wide variety of library services, such as:  Learning to use a computer, tablet, email or the Internet; Downloading eBooks and audiobooks; Researching a topic; Discovering new books and authors to read and enjoy; Business, nonprofit or genealogy help; Or other topics you define.  Please register.

Regular Events for Children
Mondays from 2:30-4 pm.  Mondays in the Middle.  For students in grades 4-7. Drop by the Children’s Program Room after school for video games, board games, laptops, and homework (!!!). For middle school students only.  No program during school vacation days or weeks.
Mondays December 5th and 19th  from 6:30-7:30 pmTail Waggin’ Tutors.  Please register.
Tuesdays  and Fridays at 10:05 and 10:50 am, and Saturday, December 10th at 10:15 am, through December 23rd -  No class December 6th.  Ring-A-Ding, for ages 0-5.  In the Teen Room, limited to first 50 people.  We ask that you only attend one session of Ring a Ding per week!
Monday, December 12th at 4:15 pm, Magic School Bus - For ages 4-8. Each month, we will show a different Magic School Bus video and do a related experiment/craft/activity. Please register.
Tuesdays at 11:35 am and Wednesdays at 9:35 am, through December 14th.  No class December 6th.   Book Babies.  For ages 0-23 months.  Please register.
Tuesdays from 2:30-4 pm.  Crafternoons.  For grades 4-7.  Drop by after school for a craft every Tuesday!  There will also be video games, board games, laptops and more!  For middle school students only. No program during school vacation days or weeks.
Wednesdays from 2:30-4 pm.  Wicked Awesome Wednesdays.  For grades 4-7.  Video games, board games, laptops and more!  Meet your friends for a fun afternoon.  Drop in, no registration required!

Wednesdays at 4 pmLego Club, for all ages!
Thursdays through December 15th  at 1:15 pm.  Wild Things Story Time.   For ages 3-5. This story time will feature a different wild animal each week! This story time will feature 3-4 stories per week along with activities/a craft. Please register.


Events for Teens
Teen Room Activities – (Grades 6-12)  Looking for something to do after school?  Stop by the Teen Room every day after school from 2:00-5:00 pm! Use computers, play on the WiiU and XBox One, play board games, and create craft projects with your friends.  No program during school vacation days or weeks.

Tuesday, December 13  at 6:30 pmYA Book Lovers Book Club, for teens and adults.  Calling all lovers of teen literature! If you like to read and talk about books, then join us for fun discussions and a snack!!  This program is for teens and adults. We'll read from different genres chosen by group members.  Please register if this is your first time attending.   This month's book is "Everything Everything" by Nicola Yoon.. Copies will be available at the library.

Events for Adults
Monday, December 5th at 3 pm and 6:30 pmBook Discussion Group, new members welcome, drop in!  It’s that time of year again.  From November through spring we offer the book discussion group in both an afternoon or evening session. Pick the one that best meets your schedule.
