Clarinet Trio concludes season at LiveARTS
  

Bruce Creditor, clarinet, Donald Krishnaswami, viola, and Lorena Tecu, piano, are members of the Clarinet Trio that will play the final concert of LiveARTS 2016-2017 concert season. The concert will be held on Sunday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. at the meetinghouse of the First Universalist Society, 262 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Doors open at 3 p.m. The building is completely handicapped accessible.

Clarinetist Bruce Creditor is a founding member of the Emmanuel Wind Quintet, Alea III, and the Montage Music Society. He has premiered works by many living composers, including Gunther Schuller and John Harbison. Mr. Creditor began playing the clarinet at the age of nine. Born in Brooklyn, he performed with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of New York before participating in the summer programs at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.

Violist Donald Krishnaswami, is active in the Boston area as a performing musician and teacher. He has collaborated in chamber music with current and former members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Krishnaswami is a founding member of the LiveARTS String Quartet. He has played with orchestras in various cities in the United States, and in the Boston area, with the orchestras of the Boston Ballet, Boston Pops, and Boston Lyric Opera. Mr. Krishnaswami is Artistic Director of LiveARTS.

Pianist Lorena Tecu is currently a staff pianist at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and the Boston University College of Fine Arts. Born in Craiova, Romania, she graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Bucharest. She has been an assistant professor at the Music Academy in Bucharest, Romania. Mrs. Tecu has completed the Artist Diploma in Collaborative Piano at Boston University, where she studied with Shiela Kibbe.

In the concert on April 23, the trio will play Mozart’s “Kegelstatt” (Bowling Alley) Trio and Schumann’s “Fairy Tales”. Pieces in a variety of instrumental combinations by Bruch, Ben-Haim, and Vaughan Williams round out the program.
