Charles C. Williams, Jr., 87, of Milford

Charles C. Williams, Jr., 87, of Milford passed away on Fri. Feb. 17, 2017 at the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. He was the husband of the late Joan R. (Cosgrove) Williams who died in 2009.

Mr. Williams was a MSGT in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years serving during the Korean era and the Vietnam era. In his retirement, he was an accountant and owned his own business. 

Charles was born July 28, 1929 in Cambridge the son of the late Charles C. and Mary (Slavinsky) Williams and had been a resident of Wilder, VT and Texas before moving to Milford 49 years ago. 

Mr. Williams was an active Boy Scout Master for Troop # 32 in Milford for many years and was currently helping scouts with their Merit Badges. He was an avid collector of coins, stamps and baseball cards. Charles loved watching and attending the Paw Sox games in Pawtucket, RI.

Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Ted Williams and his wife Lois of Loudenville, NY and Kevin Williams and his wife Anne of Framingham, two daughters, Barbara Peggs of Tipton, IN, Kathy Pichel of Bellingham, her former husband Gary and his wife Diana Pichel of Cumberland, RI., two brothers, Walter Williams and Robert Williams both of MA., one sister, Marion Ulman of Milford, 8 grandchildren 7 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John Williams. 

Visiting hours will be Tues. Feb. 21, 2017 from 4-7 PM in the BUMA SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.

Funeral services will be held Wed. Feb. 22, 2017 at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St., Upton.

Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne with Full Military Honors at 12:45 PM on Wed. Feb. 22, 2017.
