By MyFM's Jake Archer - The Bruins signed another young prospect from Boston University on Sunday as Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson agreed to a three-year entry-level deal. “JFK” was the 45th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft and will now be joining the B’s this week.
The Swedish forward has been compared to current Bruins star Patrice Bergeron and should provide a boost to a team that is making a push towards the playoffs. During this season at BU, the sophomore has 33 points on 14 goals and 19 assists in 39 games. He also served as an alternate captain for the Terriers. As a freshman, he was selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team after tallying 30 points on 10 goals and 20 assists.
Between this signing and the recent signing of JFK’s Boston University teammate, Charlie McAvoy, the Bruins have added some bright young talent to the organization. Hopefully we can see both of these guys contributing on the ice at the Garden sooner rather than later.
