Bill To Recall Elected Officials Discussed

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A bill that would amend the Uxbridge Town Charter to allow for the recall of elected officials in the town will be heard this afternoon at the Statehouse by the Joint Committee on Election Laws.  Uxbridge residents overwhelmingly approved at Town Meeting to have the ability to recall holders of elected offices in town, for any lawful reason, by a vote of residents.  State Senator Ryan Fattman and State Representative Kevin Kuros helped file the bill, which would allow for a citizens petition having 100 or more signatures of registered voters to file an initial recall with the Town Clerk's office.  The Uxbridge Board of Selectmen did not vote to endorse the measure.
