Beatrice M. (Forte) Maines, 90, of Uxbridge passed away on Thurs. Dec. 14, 2017 at Milford Center, Milford. She was the wife of the late Harold A. Maines, Sr. who died in 2007.
Mrs. Maines had been employed at Speroni’s Restaurant in Medway from 1967-1987 and Market Basket in Bellingham from 1989 - 2004.
Beatrice was born Sept. 25, 1927 in Everett the daughter of the late Louis and Julia (Scopa) Forte and was a graduate of Everett High School. She had been a resident of Bellingham from 1965 until she moved to Uxbridge in 2003.
Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother was devoted to her family and their friends with her loving, caring and giving ways. It was always most important to her that she gave to others and made them feel special. She will be remembered as an outstanding cook and baker. She is known for her homemade lasagna, her homemade pasta with her meatballs and for her whoopee pies, cakes and trifles. In her later years, she devoted time preparing her baked goods for the faculty and students at Douglas High School and for the good people at Kenneth Crosby, a DXP Company in Hopkinton.
Mrs. Maines is survived by one daughter, Janet and her husband Raymond (Speed) Moore, Jr., of Uxbridge, two sons, George and his wife Kim Maines of Franklin, KY and Kevin and his wife Maureen Maines of Mendon, daughter-in-law, Michelle (Toni) Maines of Hawaii, son-in-law Duane Dube of Uxbridge, one sister, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Harold A. Maines, Jr and her daughter, Terece A. Dube.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Fri. Dec. 22, 2017 at 5:30 PM in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood.
There are no public visiting hours.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uxbridge at a later date.
