It is with great pleasure and excitement that I recommend Alexandra Autenzio for the Dean Bank and WMRC Student Leadership Achievement Award. Alexandra is the president of the senior class and captain of our league champion swim and dive team. Alexandra is well-respected by her peers as well as the faculty and staff here at Milford High School. Alexandra is an excellent student and is passionate about the prospect of becoming a language teacher in the future. In addition to her classroom academics, she has been part of the Teaching Assistant Program for the past two years. As a Teaching Assistant she is able to help the classroom teacher with a variety of tasks that includes direct support to students. Her kind nature and patience coupled with her passion and intelligence make her a natural in the classroom.
In addition to being the senior class president and girls swim and dive captain, she is a member of the National Honor Society, peer mentoring and secretary of Best Buddies. She also finds time to lifeguard and teach swim lessons for the Milford Community Use Program. In my 25 years as an educator/coach/administrator, I have never had a student take on so many responsibilities with the focus and commitment level that Alexandra has. Her character is consistently used as an example for the underclassmen. There has never been an instance where she compromised her values for the sake of doing what was accepted by the "popular" crowd. She always does what's right and just.
Alexandra is able to balance her schoolwork, school related activities, and athletics very well. Her time management skills are extraordinary and her character is without question. She is a moral and decent young woman. She is independent, confident and a person of great integrity and depth. Alexandra has set her sights high and I am confident she will accomplish all her goals. Her application has my strongest endorsement
